As a traditional family business, we always do our best to focus on our customers and our common future! We rise to the challenges of vegetable cultivation and also want to follow them innovatively in the future!
For more than 30 years, the Scherr’s family business in Weixelbaum, close to Bad Radkersburg, has stood for safe and regional young plants from Austria. Christa and Leo Scherr feel obliged to adhere to sustainable ways of production. The glasshouses, in which several millions of plants sprout every year, are heated by 100% biomass.
Since 1988, Christa and Leo Scherr have devoted their professional life to the cultivation of young vegetable plants. Today, the company is one of the most innovative and sustainable ones in this industry. Biomass generates ecological warmth, ways of transport are kept short and the know-how in the area of soil-less agriculture (mineral wool primarily) has turned the family business into the innovation leader.
Working with plants requires constant progress to reach more quality. With the help of the latest findings, we seek to understand the secrets of optimum quality. In doing so, we are open towards new measurements, techniques and improvements of all kind.
