For more than 30 years, the Scherr’s family business in Weixelbaum, close to Bad Radkersburg, has stood for safe and regional young plants from Austria. Christa and Leo Scherr feel obliged to adhere to sustainable ways of production. The glasshouses, in which several millions of plants sprout every year, are heated by 100% biomass.
Since 1988, Christa and Leo Scherr have devoted their professional life to the cultivation of young vegetable plants. Today, the company is one of the most innovative and sustainable ones in this industry. Biomass generates ecological warmth, ways of transport are kept short and the know-how in the area of soil-less agriculture (mineral wool primarily) has turned the family business into the innovation leader.
